Blue River Bio's founding team receives the Stanford SPARK Award for Excellence
The SPARK Translational Research Program honored the team led by Patrick Purdon as the single project, among more than 50, showing outstanding progress toward the clinic.
On October 29, 2025, the SPARK Translational Research Program at Stanford University School of Medicine presented its Award for Excellence to the project led by Blue River Bio co-founder Patrick Purdon. The award is given to one research team among more than 50 active SPARK projects for outstanding progress in translating research into clinical solutions for patients.
SPARK’s mission is to advance academic discoveries from laboratory to patient care. Teams receive hands-on advising, funding, and counsel from more than 200 volunteer industry experts who provide the knowledge needed to move projects from bench to bedside. More than half of SPARK projects have gone on to the clinical or commercial sectors.
