First place at the Stanford GSB Healthcare Innovation Summit pitch competition
Blue River Bio won the pitch competition at Stanford's premier healthcare and life sciences event, earning nearly twice the votes of any other team.
At the Stanford Healthcare Innovation Summit on April 8, 2026, Blue River Bio took first place in the pitch competition among six competing teams. Our pitch earned nearly twice the votes of any other team from an audience of healthcare and biotech executives, Stanford faculty, and graduate students.
Hosted at the Oberndorf Event Center at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the summit is Stanford’s premier healthcare and life sciences event. It brings together founders, investors, industry leaders, and members of the Stanford community to explore how frontier technologies are reshaping drug development, care delivery, payment models, and regulatory policy, through expert panels, start-up showcases, and networking.
The win reflects growing recognition that the opioid crisis cannot be solved without solving the pain problem at the same time, and that a medication as powerful as opioids without the risk of addiction would change how acute pain is treated.
